Bio
MacKennan represents states in litigation against 3M and DuPont for pollution of the environment with PFAS “forever chemicals.” She also represents states and municipal governments in cases nationwide against Monsanto for PCBs pollution; some of these cases have recently settled while others are ongoing, including a case for the Burlington, Vermont School District, which is building a new $200 million high school after discovering PCBs contamination from building materials in the old school. Earlier in her career, MacKennan litigated complex human rights and environmental tort cases with the organization EarthRights International, and worked on a variety of human rights litigation throughout Southern Africa with the Southern Africa Litigation Centre. MacKennan clerked for the Honorable Wilma A. Lewis of the District Court of the Virgin Islands (2020-2022).
MacKennan graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2017 and earned a B.A. from Wheaton College (MA) in 2013.
